In 2017, Write Edge embarked on a partnership with The Straits Times to promote expository writing in Singapore amongst other enrichment brands, further demonstrating the team’s abilities and credentials. The focus on Current Affairs through this collaboration is also aligned with what is covered in Write Edge’s Secondary school curriculum.
The first collaboration – an expository writing workshop that was held at SPH’s premise – saw an overwhelming response with a full house of 80 students. The workshop also garnered very positive feedback from students and parents. This led to the regular running of secondary programmes in exclusive collaboration with SPH at the Bukit Timah Branch, slots were quickly filled with 50 students within the first month of enrolment, achieving a veritable track record.
The Straits Times articles are incorporated into the weekly curriculum and enhances the students’ learning experience. Pre-covid, a workshop conducted in March 2019 ran a full house of 125 students. During the circuit breaker, Write Edge also ran a free PSLE intensive class on Zoom for the first time with Straits Times and achieved an average viewership of 4000++ students, parents and teachers. This has led to more opportunities to conduct 7 more other online workshops from September to December in 2020.
There are no SPH workshops currently.
